Sometimes I wish I had someone to listen.
Someone other than my parents or my sister- someone other than family.
Sometimes life throws you curveballs, or rather, a bucket-load of curveballs. And you just need someone to talk through things with.
That's how I feel today. I feel like I don't have that someone, someone who genuinely wants to listen and talk through things with me.
I thought I did, but I guess not.
It hurts and that's the truth.

Dear God, send me someone who will listen.

All I want to do today is sing along to Ke$ha songs. Don't judge me.
I never realized how many of her songs I actually liked until the past couple of days when I did some Spotify research and watched the first episode of her new show on MTV. Okay I know, MTV... but there's something fascinating to me about musicians (Katy Perry's movie anyone?!). Here are some of my favorites right now, some you may know, some you may just be hearing. I was pleasantly surprised.

If you're looking for something crazy..."Cannibal", "Dinasoar", & "Grow A Pear"
If you're lovesick... "The Harold Song", "Animal", "Blind", & "Old Flames Can't Hold A Candle To You"
If you wanna rock... "C'Mon", "My First Kiss" (with 30H!3), "Crazy Beautiful Life"
If you need a boost... "Love Into The Light"

I'm loving all of these right now. There is something so refreshing about just going a little crazy. Not caring who sees or what happens next, just living.
Have a very Ke$ha Wednesday!

Spring you say? Oh no. Don't be silly. We don't do Spring here.

I'm not going to go on and on about snow, but I thought I'd share a snapshot of my walk back from work this morning. Just to give you an idea.
Today was a pretty good day. It was one of those days where things happen just like any other day but they don't bother you as much as they might usually. It was a good day and I wasn't going to let it not be. Even when this happened...

To be honest, I just laughed when my poor, overused and very much relied upon $20 coffee maker crashed to the floor. It was too ridiculous. My straightener cord got tangled in my christmas lights which were intertwined with the coffee maker's plug in- it was a whole thing. Glass everywhere. But it was my own stupid clumsiness and I had to laugh it off.
Even though I am a little panicky sitting here realizing that if I wanted coffee right now, I couldn't make it...so I try not to think about it.

Not to mention, it was Burrito Day in the dining center, which is by far the best day of the week. Even if I did have to wake up early to go to work. Even if it is still snowing on April 23rd. Even if I had a million shards of glass to clean up. EVEN if someone took my laundry out of the washing machine and just so happened to put them in my laundry basket with ALL of my underwear on top for the world to see. I got a burrito. Burrito day makes everything worth enduring.

I hope you all had Tuesdays as tolerable as mine. Now I'm off to cram for a Biology test tomorrow, which in a matter of weeks will be the LAST time I will ever have to say those words again in my life. Praise the Lord.

It's obvious that YouTube has taken on new meaning since it was created. It's home to music, film, people catching random stuff on camera, and then there's this whole world of people called "YouTubers" that some of us didn't even know existed. But they do, and it's great- because they are freaking awesome. I decided to show you a few of my favorites so you can enjoy their hilariousness with me.

#1. DailyGrace with Grace Helbig
Grace is by far my favorite YouTuber. Her humor is absolutely unique and authentic. She doesn't try to be anyone else and she comes up with great material and posts videos every day. She blows my mind. High five Grace.

#2. JennaMarbles with Jenna Mourey
Everyone knows Jenna, but that doesn't make her any less awesome. She's brutally honest, hilarious and is someone you just wish you could hang out with.

#3. MirandaSings with Coleen Baker
Miranda is unlike anything you've seen. A lot of people don't understand the humor behind this character but some of my friends and I discovered her this year and died watching all of her videos. She's crazy. Enjoy.

Sunday Funday! It's backkkkkk.
I spent the day lazily and then went downtown for burgers with my dad. One of my favorite things to do, easily. Now, back at school, facing this week of classes and work and responsibilities, I'm putting it off just a little bit longer. I'm going to drink my Clementine IZZE pop and watch old episodes of Felicity. I hope you're weekend was wonderful and you're savoring the last moments of it with me.

Happy Saturday everyone!
I've been having some medical shenanigans going on lately, so this weekend I am mostly house-bound. Not too much excitement happening. This is my new typewriter though, who is doing her part to entertain me today. Having not even set foot outside yet, I can't complain about the weather, except to say that this snow had better melt before Monday. I can't take one more week of winter. I need short sleeves and Vitamin D. Maybe even a little beach action.
Someone please tell me where you are flowers are blooming and green is spreading. I need to know it's still possible. Please God, take away my qualms that we are going to have a snowy summer, PLEASE. It' irrational but I'm really starting to believe it.

I'm going to go put on my Goodwill purchase from yesterday. Frank Sinatra.

Friday could not have come sooner. I am so over school it's ridonk. Summer needs to be tomorrow or I might just throw my books away, curl under my bed & refuse to come out until I see some green grass.
I'm spending my evening at home (real home..not college home) and am loving it. Tonight we dyed my Mom's hair with a LUSH henna hair dye. It's an organic, chemical-free dye and gives your hair a silky, smooth texture along with natural coloring. I used it to dye my hair red over Christmas and loved it.
Anyways, we had some girl time & I was reminded how much I appreciate my family and being here with them. Dorm life can drain the life right out of me, and I am soaking in having my own space here. I never fully appreciated how special "home" really is, that feeling of contentment and security, until I was gone. I'm glad, because now I see it for what it is and don't take it for granted. Well, I'm off to play with my new Royal Typewriter and listen to some records. Cause it's that kinda night.

I hope you have a wonderful Friday, all.

It's time for your next dosage of some movies I've enjoyed lately! Get excited!

1. Safety Not Guaranteed
This movie is great. It just is. The story is actually based on a wanted ad published in a newspaper that was featured on Jay Leno's late night show. The ad, shown on the cover above, is looking for someone to go time-traveling with. The movie follows a group of journalists who try to find out who posted the ad, to see just how crazy he is. It's got a little bit of everything. It's a unique storyline with sci-fi, mystery, a bit of comedy and a sprinkle of romance all thrown together. Also I have a girl crush on Aubrey Plaza (from Parks & Rec!) and Jake Johnson (from New Girl!).

2. My Sassy Girl
Alright, I absolutely HATE the title of this movie. Whoever was responsible for it probably cost them millions of dollars because I almost didn't watch it because it sounded so ridiculous. BUT, I did. And I love it. Another quirky film, my friends. An unconventional love story. It's not your average chick flick and your usual lead characters. I love the way it surprises you; so many movies have given up on putting the effort into trying to really surprise the viewers when making a love story.

3. Stuck Between Stations
This was a low-budget film, you can tell. But what they did with the budget they had is impressive and I found myself very emotionally invested in the lead characters. It's a story about two people reconnecting in the midst of the strangest times in their lives and how they go through some really rough emotions together, all in the course of one magical night. Can't complain that it's filmed in my very own Minne either.

You wouldn't believe how hard it is to take a picture of a fish. Apparently they don't sit still. Who knew.
One thing I've missed most about home since coming to college are my pets. I swear I have a whole quarter of my heart that is devoted purely to enjoying animals. Now, I realize many of you wouldn't consider a fish a pet but give me a break- they don't exactly let you keep a kitten in your dorm room.
So this is Maisy. She's a betta fish and will hopefully last longer than Bruce did. She seems content thus far and I could swear I hear the faintest "just keep swimming, just keep swimming..".

Hkdfjy Sfiefjndadsjy (Maisy says Happy Sunday)

In memory of Bruce.

"Yo, my best friend, best friend till the very end
Cause best friends, best friends don't have to pretend;
You need a hand, and I'm right there, right beside you
You in the dark, I'll be the bright light to guide you.

And don't forget all the trouble we got into,
We got something you can't undo, do
Laughing so damn hard..

All the scars we share
I promise, I swear
Wherever you go, just always remember
That you got a home for now and forever
And if you get low, just call me whenever
This is my oath to you.

You're never alone, we're birds of a feather
And we'll never change, no matter the weather
This is my oath to you.

I know I drive you crazy, mm, sometimes
I know I called you lazy, and that's most times
But you complete me, and that's no lie.
You are my tuxedo, and I'm your bowtie.

Just thought that you should know,
This is my oath to you.
Wherever you go, just always remember
That you got a home for now and forever
And if you get low, just call me whenever.
This is my oath to you."

- "Oath" by Cher Lloyd

As cheesy and poppy as these lyrics are, doggonit, they're true. I just wanted to write a quick note on my best friend, Lindsay. We have been through so much together and have stuck it out for 5 years now. She's is the tuxedo to my bowtie. I'm blessed to have her.

Happy Friday ya'll.

Yes it's true. It is April 11th and we have snow in Minnesota. The only redeeming aspect of this crap-hole weather is that we got out of school today. Otherwise I'm PEEVED. Who snows in April? What kind of sick joke is this??

Aside from that, I'm spending my day pretty lazily. Slept in, which was stellar, I do have to say. Did some homework- bleh. Now I'm aimlessly searching the internet for something to amuse me. So amuse me, dammit!

Here are some funny or adorable tidbits I've found so far...

Happy Thursday

Does anyone else find it difficult when people tell you that positivity is the medicine you need to be happy? I do believe I am a generally positive person. But sometimes life sucks you down and no amount of plastering a grin on your face or looking at the bright side is going to cover up those feelings. Because those feelings are real and it is only a disservice to yourself to pretend otherwise. Own up to your truth, stand tall in your every pain and heartbreak.

You know what can at least help lighten the load of a heavy heart? Dancing. When I am sad, after I spend some time in my bed listening to sad songs or watching a heart-wrenching movie, I turn on something pumpin' and get my solo dance party on. It's been known to happen on a weekly if not daily basis.

Here are some of the songs I've been dancing to lately. And hang in there. You're not the only one who feels like the world is going against you sometimes. You've got company in that department, so just forget the world for a few minutes and dance it out (Grey's Anatomy flashback, anyone?) .

1. "Ashtrays and Heartbreaks" Snoop Lion ft. Miley Cyrus
Ok, I am surprisingly digging this song. It was just released a couple of days ago, and I know what you're going to say. Just ignore the Snoop Lion and Miley Cyrus of it. It's not exactly a pump up song, but I love the beat and but sway to it, it feels good ; )

2. "The Way" by Ariana Grande ft. Mac Miller
This song is really fun to jump around to and pretend you're in a music video for. Just shake your tush and channel your inner Christina.

3. "Shake It" by Metro Station
Good beats, and come on, the name of the song is Shake It.

4. "I Choose U" by Timeflies
First of all, google the singer in this song and you won't even need the song to start dancing. Hubba hubba. This is another song where it's more fun just to pretend you're the star of HIS video for. Better yet, go watch this:

5. "Video Killed the Radio Star" by the Buggles
I can't get over this song. Maybe it's just me, but I love it. It came out in the late 70s, and it's just so much swizzle your hips and shoulders to.

6. "Carried Away" by Passion Pit
I have been thoroughly enjoying this song ever since I found the music video for it, which I showed here. I've been twirling around my room to it all week.

And just remember,
