It's Saturday here in sunny ole Minnesota. HA JUST KIDDING, it's cold and rainy. A tremendously fun duo that leads to me spending most of the day in my room avoiding a 1000 word paper like the plague and not changing out of my pajamas till dinnertime. The one positive thing I did do was allowing my friend Lindsay to drag me out of bed at 10am to go workout. Otherwise I've been a sloth.

I've never been a schoolie. In high school I was an average student. I got B's and one or two A's and that was fine. I didn't have high expectations for myself academically and my parents didn't really care as long as I wasn't flunking out. But college is different, college is harder than I've ever had to try at school to keep my head above water. And obviously this doesn't come as a surprise to me, but I do have to say I'm thoroughly fed up with it now that April is here and I can smell the faintest whiff of summer.

I know it sounds childish to say, but can I just have my dream job already and skip the Biology tests and Spanish presentations?

Anyways, all this to say, the countdown to summer begins now and I'm posting this to prove I didn't completely waste my Saturday. Good weekend to you all.

It's about time for a T.V. post, I'd say. T.V. is great and holds such a different experience than movies do. It allows you to follow characters for a much more extended period of time and develop more of a connection to the story.

First I'm going to show you my five favorite shows that are on air right now. In no particular order, let me add. I'm like that Mom who says she loves all of her kids for different reasons.

1. Community
Ahhh just thinking of Community gives me the warm fuzzies. This show is brilliance ten times over. Give yourself a few episodes to get into the swing of it and fall in love with the characters. You'll understand.

2. The Walking Dead
Talk about the opposite of warm fuzzies. This show is a hella lot of blood, guts, and gore. And I love every minute of it. What I like best is that they don't sacrifice the story just because they've got zombies to entertain the audience. It's a high energy, edge of your seats heartbreaker.

3. New Girl
One of my real favorites I do have to admit. New Girl is what I would call an acquired taste. This show isn't for everyone- but hey, I'm all for it. This show is hilarious, warm, and makes you want to be your awkward crazy inner self all the time.

4. Whitney
Whitney Cummings makes my heart happy. I relate so much to the kind of anti-cheesy, awkward, rough girl that she is. The wit as well as Alex & Whitney's relationship is what makes this show worth watching. It's great.

5. Parenthood
I'm sure many of you are as crazy about Parenthood as me, so I don't even need to say much, except to say that I cry nearly every episode. The stories are so well woven together but can also stand on their own. It's truth, pain, love, and hilarity all mashed together into a 40 minute set.

Enjoy!

This year has been anything but what I expected. I don't know about you, but I fully believe people can change. 100%. When I look back at myself, even 9 months ago, I see how I've come such a long way from where I was.

I've made discoveries about myself that I never even gave a second thought before. This coming year, I hope to put to practice this process I've begun of getting to know myself. For so long I've felt out of sorts, like there were parts of me that needed freeing but I didn't know yet what they were. But really, I just wasn't willing to take the time to find out.

This quote by Jim Elliot hits me hard. "Wherever you are, be all there." Those words hold so much power. I'm tired of being half of myself, of holding back, of accepting the mediocre. I want to be extraordinary and I want to create beauty like I've always dreamed.
